contents page and double page spread :)

Double page spread: I created my double page spread in indesign, and I found this programme quite hard to use but I got there in the end and I think it looks ok. 

Contents page: Below is my Contents page, I created this in photoshop. I think this looks better than the front cover because I had got used to using the tools and I had realised how to make everything look much better. 

That's my music magazine task complete :).

Back from the christmas holiday's :)

My planning folder is all complete now, and so is the music magazine.

I have already posted some of my folder work on here so I'm just going to post my music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread. I created the front cover and the contents page on photoshop and the double page spread was created on indesign. 

When using photoshop I had never used it before to this extent so it took me a little bit of time to remember how to use all the tools. However once I had started using it for a few lessons I found it pretty easy to use after that. For the front cover, I used quite a few different tools throughout the production and these were :

• move tool
• lasso tool
• magic wand tool
• healing brush tool
• brush tool
• paint bucket tool
• horizontal text tool
• rectangle tool
• eyedropper tool

These were the main tools that I used to create my front cover, It was quite hard at first to try and make the front cover look good when I wasn't too sure how to actually use the tools correctly. I am happy with my front cover but I think if i had time there would be things that I could change.

During the first module I have done a lot of planning work for my folder. In between doing my primlanary task which was my school magazine I have been working on other tasks and here they all are completed.

School Magazine is finished! :)

Today I have finished the school magazine, I worked really hard today and finished the cover lines and put them into place. I then also added two little photo's onto the bottom of the page which make the front cover look much better and it also filled up a bit of left over space. I think that it looks good because the image of the young girl makes you feel happy because she looks like she is having a nice time and she gives the front cover a feeling of ease. I took time to look for a font that i thought that would look good on the front cover. I chose a font that looks like handwriting because it ties in to it being a school magazine. Then I took four little post it notes and I changed there colour's into the colleges colour's. I then added my cover lines onto these.

In todays lesson we have been catching up with work that needs to be finished before we break up for two weeks. In this lesson I have completed my Music magazine Proposal.

However my school magazine is coming along well and I have nearly completed it, its looking really good so far and I just need to put my cover lines and sell lines on to it to make it complete. I also need to do the contents page after this. I have a good idea of what the contents page is going to look like. 

On my working folder work, I have nearly completed everything but just a few more things to complete.

School Magazine :)

Week three (: 

This week I have just basically been working in photoshop on my school magazine. It is really coming along, I know have the little girl as my front image with a navy blue masthead which says 'LTA Life' and then I have the strap line is 'Act enterprisingly. Work in partnership. Achieve excellence.' Then there is four notes on the side in the colour's of the colleges. Using photoshop is quite difficult and time consuming. I have used quite a few of the tools already such as, 

- Move tool

- Lasso tool

- Spot healing brush tool

- Brush tool

- Paint bucket tool

- Dodge tool

- Text tool

Thursday 1st October 09, carrying on.

Carrying on..

In the last week, we took the camera's out in pairs and took photo's of students for a school magazine which is for one piece of our coursework. I went out with Chrissie and we had to find a student or a group of students to get photo's of them. I had to take into consideration all that I have learnt in the last three lessons about: Lighting, position and other criteria. Once I had taken the photo's and I was happy with them I then put them into the student folder. In today's lesson I am going to be using photoshop to work with the photo's that I took on Monday. 

Then on the second half of Monday's lesson, we started learning on photoshop and then we practiced with some set photo's. I learnt exactly how to use photoshop and I think that I will be able to work with it on my photo's to make my school magazine look really good (: -
